His threatened blockade of the Strait of Hormuz would be in violation of international law, and would create conflict with China and other countries who have nothing to do with Orange Clown’s illegal war. Any country controls 12 miles from its coast according to UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea). The Strait of Hormuz is 21 miles wide between Oman and Iran at its narrowist. Do the math, and that means there are no technical “high waters” for international commerce. UNCLOS defines this as a “strait” and says it’s illegal for countries to block passage.
